First MUGHAL Monument in India. KABULI BAGH MOSQUE, PANIPAT

History and description -: The Kabuli Bagh Mosque, the first Mughal monument in India was built by Babur to commemorate victory over Sultan Ibrahim Lodhi in the First Battle of Panipat (1526 AD) and it is also said that Babur built this mosque in the memory her wife KABULI and also there was a big garden in the surroundings of mosque hence its name was Kabuli Bagh Mosque.  The mosque, situated inside an enclosure having octagonal towers on its corners, has its entrance on the north. The gateway, built of bricks with red sandstone, consists of a lintel bracket type opening encased in a huge arch with gateways has battlement pattern with two small minaretes, the spandrels of which are decorated with arched recesses encased in rectangular panels. octagonal hauz and small circular well has also inside in mosque. The main prayer hall, square in shape, has annexes on sides and its high façade is divided in panels plastered with lime. Each of the annexes has nine bays that are crowned with hemispherical domes resting on low drums, imside the mosque also has two graves which are beleived to be the ancestors of Kabuli. There are all the features  inside the the mosque which should be in a mosque. Humayun, after defeating Salim Shah, added a masonry platform known as Chabutra-i-Fateh Mubarak. It bears an inscription dated 1527 AD that records the name of the king and other details about its builders. it has also no. of domes  but most of domes  were destroyed. Squinches of mosques are beautifuuly decorated with their fiuctions. other side of mosue are very ruined. 

Condition -This Mosque places a seperate place in itself, despite being the first building, it is not able to recognize that identity and local people are also not aware of it, Conservation work was done by ASI but after they dont preserve them and care. anti-social activities, vandalism and encroachment are major issue in Mosque.
