MINI TAJ OF NORTH INDIA (HARYANA)

SHEIKH CHILLI TOMB and COMPLEX LOCATION - Thanesar town, Kurukshetra PERIOD      - 17th CE STATUS     - Protected by ASI DESCRIPTION -   Seikh chilli tomb is a famous and most beautiful monument in Haryana, Its also known as a Taj of Haryana. Seikh Chilli was a sufi saint and teacher of Mughal prince Dara Sikoh, the eldest son of Shahjahan, and this tomb was built by Dara sikoh in memory of our Sufi teacher. there is a another tomb in thix complex and believed to be of Seikh chilli's wife and his family.The tomb, overlooking the madarasa and standing on an artificial terrace, is octagonal in shape with the entrance in the south. I This beautiful tomb and attached Madrasa are associated with the Sufi Saint Abd-ur-Rahim. There is a mosque called Pather Masjid (Stone Mosque) that was built in red sandstone. On the north side are the Mughal Gardens with chaar bagh pattern and Harsh ka tilaa. Now this complex has a Dara sikoh Library, Archaeological Museum.John Dawki

A DISPUTED AND RUINED MOSQUE OF HARYANA

PIRZADA MASJID Due to dispute among the people, this mosque has suffered a lot, the court case is going on for its land. Due to neglect from custodians  and Government, the  condition of the mosque is very bad and it can be collapse anytime. LOCATION      -  Meham town, District Rohtak, Haryana SITUATION     -  Near Etihaashik Chabutra Park    PERIOD            - 16th CE STATUS            - Unprotected DISCRIPTION  - As per Hissar Inscription, Pirzada Masjid was built in 16th Century and this Masjid built by Sheikh Yusuf at the reign of Babur. Pirzada was a Sufi Saint at that time, but we didn't get much more information about masjid's history. It is said that there were two inscription within the mosque, but they have been destroyed. In 1976 Professor S.R Phogat did an extensive study on the inscription's of Haryana, it is from his research that he found, the two inscription in inside the mosque in Persian Language.          FIRST  INSCRIPTION OF MOSQUE -

                                              TOHANA BAOLI   Nothing can be seen, on Baoli due to wild growth and badly use by custodians. It requires immediate Conservation and Preservation work by ASI and Haryana Archaelogical and museum department. 1. NAME OF BAOL I : TOHANA BAOLI (PURAANI BAY) 2. KABULI BAGH MOSQUE, PANIPAT Location -: Panipat, District-Panipat Situation -: 2 km away from railway station Situated in Kabul Bagh Colony of Panipat City. Under protection of -: ASI Period -: 1526-27 AD History and description -: The Kabuli Bagh Mosque, the first Mughal monument in India was built by Babur to commemorate victory over Sultan Ibrahim Lodhi in the First Battle of Panipat (1526 AD) and it is also said that Babur built this mosque in the memory her wife KABULI and also there was a big garden in the surroundings of mosque hence its name was Kabuli Bagh Mosque.  The mosque, situated inside an enclosure having octagonal towers on its corners, has its entrance on the north.
